OTR II is back on the road, and we couldn't be happier. Tonight (September 11), in Arlington, Texas, DJ Khaled announced the city's scholarship winner, Shaykeim Powe. Shaykeim (17) is a high school senior at Summit High School. He's been a very active member of the Boys & Girls Club of Arlington since 2009, and for the past four years he's participated in the Skills Mastery and Resilience Training program (SMART Moves). As a SMART Leader, he facilitates programming for the younger youth in his Club. He is also on the steering committee for the Club's Youth Leadership Conference. In his free time, Shaykeim tutors and teaches sign language classes to the youth at the Club. Shaykeim has studied American Sign Language (ASL) since 10th grade and is currently enrolled in a dual credit ASL class through his high school and local community college.

Shaykeim would like to continue his studies at the University of Houston, and obtain a Bachelor's Degree through the University's ASL Interpreter program. He's drawn to the field because of his servant heart, he knows the need of interpreters throughout many different career fields, and he wants to represent male minorities in the field.

He will be the first member of his family to successfully graduate high school and earn a college degree. See the moment Shaykeim found out he was receiving the OTR II Scholarship below. Congrats, Shaykeim!
