#BeyGood New & Now: Male Designers

MikaelKaleFW10

Mikhael Kale:

Known for his conceptual approach to fashion, Mikhael Kale’s reigning merit is his acute attention to detail, craftsmanship and tailoring. The Canadian-born designer honed his fashion skills through working with labels such as Antoniao Marras, and later securing a design position under the guidance of Sergio Ciucci for Exte. After returning to Canada, the Toronto-based Kale introduced his eponymous label in 2007 and has been recognized by international publications such as WWD, The New York Times T magazine, and Dazed and Confused since. Reuben Reuel of Demestiks NewYork :

Reuben Reuel doesn’t operate out of a fancy boutique location, but that doesn’t mean his designs are lacking in the luxury department. Primarily sold on Etsy, his womenswear line, Demestiks New York, is based on Dutch wax prints and other classic African patterns. After developing a loyal following of locals, he moved to New York to launch his own brand in 2009. His designs speak loudly with bold use of color and vintage silhouettes. Founded by Brooklyn-born designer Romeo Hunte, the brand heeds to those who desire minimalistic style with complex flair. With a strong background history in luxury retail and styling, Romeo built his career engaging with women and catering to their daily fashion needs. The designer combines his knowledge of personal styling with his appreciation of street style for his brand. See how Beyoncé wore his brand.
